SEKES – Association of Finnish Development Companies

SEKES – the Association of Finnish Development Companies is comprised of the development companies or agencies owned by various cities and municipalities all over Finland. It has 52 + 4 member companies which employ a total of 700 people, encompassing about 90% of the country’s regional development companies. In 2019, SEKES member organisations worked in-depth with about 45,000 enterprises and had more than 100,000 contacts.
SEKES’s basic tasks include:
- Influencing issues that are significant for development companies
- Increasing the visibility of development companies
- Building partnerships with other operators
- Internal and external communication and participation in discourses concerning the sector
- Developing the activities of its members
- Promoting peer learning and spreading new ideas
- Coordinating joint activities
- Boosting know-how and resources within the network
- Developing international activities
